The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Amb. Monday Semaya Kumba discussed with UNMISS Chief of Staff Leda Limann ways to continue engaging United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan essentially on matters related to humanitarian situation in the country.
Amb. Kumba met with UNMISS Chief of Staff on Thursday and emphasized the government’s readiness to work with the UNMISS on issues that matter to people of South Sudan and UNMISS as an organization directly working with government on humanitarian aspects.
He said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will continue to engage freely with partners such as UN agencies and other development agencies tasked to serve people of South Sudan.
According to the statement posted on foreign Affairs ministry official Facebook page, Kumba welcomed Leda Limann and reassured her of the government’s commitment in working with United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in addressing matters of importance in an amicable way.
For her part, Leda Limann congratulated Kumba upon his appointment and pledged readiness of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan to support government and people of South Sudan.
Limann acknowledged that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is a vital institution to work with in handling challenges facing the country.
