The new Chief of Mission for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to South Sudan, Vijaya Souri has expressed strong desire to continue supporting South Sudan in the areas of humanitarian assistance, transition, migration governance, and development for socioeconomic prosperity.
She pledged to work closely with the government in achieving the country’s migration and mobility goals.
The new Chief of Mission for the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to South Sudan, presented her credentials on Thursday in Juba to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ramadan Mohammed Abdallah Goc.
Goc welcomed Souri and reiterated his commitment to fostering cooperation between their institutions.
He urged the IOM chief to assist the government in addressing the humanitarian challenges facing returnees by initiating integration programs and supporting refugees.
