"We Dare where others fear"

The deputy minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Jacob Maiju Korok said the information ministry has establish a response team to track and monitor online misinformation.
“The ministry of Information is putting in place measures, we established Computer Immediate Response Team under National Communication Authority that will protect all contents and even curb misinformation and disinformation,” said Korok on Thursday during the celebration of the International Youth Day at the Ministry of youth and sport.
Korok said the government is laying down policies and laws related to data protection law, adding that data protection law will be presented to the Council of Ministers and then to the national parliament.
Korok also disclosed that the ministry of information through National Communication Authority is promoting digital literacy and inclusion, adding that the promise of digital pathways is marred with numerous challenges.
“The digital divides remains a significant barrier particularly in rural areas, access to technology and internet is an even easy disparity threatening to widen the gaps between those who can participate in digital economy and those who cannot,” said Korok
“In social media many people are vilified, people talking ills of others, this team will monitor whatever you do, the team comprise of different entities including national security, cybersecurity and data protection,” he said.
