"We Dare where others fear"

The Governor of Central Equatoria State Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani on Friday graced a reconciliation process of the indigenous people of Rombur, a suburb in Luri Payam of Juba County.
The community in Rombur has been engaged in divisive conflict over the past years.
According to a statement issued by the press unit of the CES Governor, the community in Rombur has been plagued by land disputes and disagreement over traditional leadership since 2016.
It said that the reconciliation initiative initiated by the Governor brought together the warring parties who managed to speak out their grievances through youth, women and elder representatives.
Following the acceptance to co-exist and reconcile among themselves, Governor Jadalla told the warring parties “to accept peace and genuine reconciliation,” emphasizing that “the law will take its course” against planters of conflict, disunity and violence in the community.
Emmanuel Tete, the Commissioner of Juba County on his part said that “the issue of leadership scramble is due to land.”
He called for “unity of purpose” among the community members.
His Lordship Santo Loku Pio, the Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba who ministered the reconciliation with prayers and blessings called on the government not to leave the decision of allotting land to be handled by chiefs.
“Juba County got spoilt because of land demarcation. No land should be demarcated without the ok of the Governor and County Commissioner,” said Bishop Loku.
He called for peaceful co-existence among the community, emphasizing that “there is no future without forgiveness.”
