Celebrating life of Richard T Raja
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Mr. Richard T. Raja, a visionary leader and esteemed member of our Trinity Group of Companies family. Mr. Raja passed away on 27th August 2024 while undergoing treatment in Manipal Hospitals, Bangalore, India, leaving a profound legacy that will forever resonate within our Group and the country.
Mr. Richard Raja’s career trajectory was a testament to his diverse skills and experiences. He began his professional journey as a diplomat with the Indian Government, a role that exposed him to diverse cultures and honed his international relations skills. This experience, notably his commitment to South Sudan that predates 2011, greatly influenced his entrepreneurial ventures, showcasing his deep understanding of the region and its people.
Beyond his diplomatic pursuits, Richard Raja was a passionate entrepreneur with a proven track record of success. He was instrumental in founding and co-founding over ten successful companies, all of which have demonstrably contributed to South Sudan’s economic and social transformation. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to South Sudan’s development are testaments to his belief in Africa’s potential. He was a sought-after advisor and collaborator for those seeking to invest in and contribute to the continent’s growth.
As a Group, we are indebted to him for his huge contribution to the group companies, which included playing a critical role in shaping our strategic direction and steering our organic growth.
We offer our sincerest condolences to his wife, Shobha Teresa Raja, son Stephen Abhishek Raja, his extended family and friends during this difficult time. May they find comfort in his memories and his great legacy.
A funeral mass was held at St Jude’s Church Palayamkottai on August 28th at 4:00 p.m. before the burial ceremony at the RC New Burial Ground, Kirubha Nagar, Seevalaperi, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, India.
Richard Raja will be remembered as a giant of entrepreneurship in Africa and a true friend of South Sudan.
