"We Dare where others fear"

Warrap State government on Saturday announced three -days of mourning following the death of Tonj North County Commissioner, Kur Kuch Angony who died on Friday aboard a plane from Cairo to Juba.
William Wol Mayom, the Warrap State Minister of Information and Communication said the late Angony was a decorated officer of the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) who died at the rank of Lt. Col.
“In this time of mourning, the government of Warrap State stands in solidarity with the people of Tonj North County and the entire family of Kur Kuch Angony,” said Mayom in a statement.
Mayom said the government of Warrap State under the leadership of Governor Kuol Muor Muor convey it’s sincere heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of late Angony.
He revealed that the State government shall resume normal government duties on August 3, 2024.
Angony was a God-fearing man who positively influenced the people he interacted with, said Mayom.
He said the State government tried to transfer late Angony for further treatment in Cairo, Egypt in a bid to save his life, adding that the late was an active civil servant and politician who participated in the war of liberation that paved way for the independence of South Sudan in 2011.
“The late Angony dedicated most of his personal life in the government of Warrap State, and his departure surely leaves a void in our hearts due to the roles that he used to play in the government,” Mayom said.
Late Angony hails from Lou Paher of Tonj North; he was born in 1969 and died aged 55 years in a Juba-bound plane from Cairo on August 30, 2024 after battling for long with liver cancer.
He is survived by five wives and a number of children.
