The parties to the transitional unity government should clarify on the way forward early enough. The transition government has it’s hands full, the Nairobi peace talks which commenced on May 3rd are still ongoing and at the same time several key issues within the 2018 revitalized peace agreement are yet to be completed.

Some civil society activists are already suggesting postponement of elections, which means extending the transition period for another 3 years.

This could be the only necessary thing to do to save face because time is against the coalition government to prepare free, fair and credible elections.

Power hates vacuum and to avoid any unforeseen uncertainties, the parties’ signatory to the revitalized peace agreement should convene and agree on the clear roadmap.
