Japanese pupils donate chalk to Gudele East primary school

The senior research advisor for Japan International Cooperation Agency’s Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development, Kayashima Nobuko has handed over chalks donated by pupils from Yotsuyo Elementary school in Japan to Gudele East Primary school.

“The objective of the visit is to hand over the donations by Yotsuyo Elementary school and to also understand the current situation most schools are facing in Juba and across South Sudan,” said Nobuko on Wednesday during the ceremony at Gudele one East primary school.

“Students of Yotsuyo elementary school contributed some money for purchase of school chalks as part of their contribution to pupils in the rpiamry schools in Juba, South Sudan as a signed of good relationship  between the two distant people and country, ” she said.

Vivian Yatama Fataki, the head teacher of Gudele East Primary School said the donations will support the learning in Gudele East Primary School, saying chalks is one of the important materials for facilitating learning in school.

“We are very happy for the donations we receive in form of chalks, we appreciate the Japanese school particularly the Japanese pupils for their kind contributions, Chalks supply will help teachers to deliver lessons,” said Fataki.

Kayashima Nobuko who is delivering the donations of chalks from Yotsuyo Elementary school in Japan to Gudele East Primary school is also the former vice president of Japan International Cooperation Agency in South Sudan.

The event organized by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at Gudele East Primary school was attended by the directors of education from the national and state ministry of education and instructions.
