Resilience Organization with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on Thursday donated scholastic materials to ease learning for visually impaired students at the Rajaf Education Center.

Kevin Abalo, the Executive Director for Resilience Organization, said that the materials will enable the learners to receive an all-inclusive education.

“We are looking into leaving no one behind, we want to make sure that students with disability are not left behind in education,” said Abalo during the handover ceremony in Rajaf payam in Juba.

Gillian Butts-Garnett, the Program Specialist for UNFPA said that it takes collective effort by a community to raise a child, adding that UNFPA wants to be part of the community working to build a bright future for young people in the country.

Ben Lou Boggo, the Director for Inclusive Education in the Ministry of General Education and Instruction said education must be made inclusive to avoid isolation and discrimination of learners with disability.

“Education must be inclusive, not even education for persons with special needs, learners must be put together, and we people with disability are put in a separate space that means isolation and discrimination,” said Boggo.

Resilience Organization in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund donated 4 benches, metallic tables, plastics chairs for the students at the Rajaf Education Centre for the Blind.
