Charity provides business skills training to 25 youth in Central Equatoria State

At least 25 youth including women have acquired business entrepreneurship skills to sustain their livelihoods under the youth and women economic empowerment project.

Bush Buse, the founder of Salam Junub said the beneficiaries will be given 200 U.S dollars as start-up capital, adding that they were awarded certificates of completion of the one- month training.

 “I urge the participants to use the money for their business but not on other work that can waste their money for nothing. Salam Junub will continue to train 25 youths every year on business skills,” said Buse on Saturday during the ceremony held on Saturday in the Gurei suburb of Juba.

Eliza John, one of the participants said the training will enable her to address challenges of economic hardship such as feeding and paying school fees for her children.

 “I promised to utilize the knowledge which I have learnt, I promise to apply the skills for running the business, acquiring different Business skills in Gurei peace Tree Hub will guide us in sustaining businesses,” said John.

Santino Awach, the male representative said they will make good use of the knowledge acquired through the training.

Dimba Shafik Taban, senior administrative officer in the Central Equatoria State Ministry of Youth and Sports urged the participants to put the skills acquired by starting up their business.

“The state government and Salam Junub will continue to monitor all the 25 participants on how they are carrying out their work in the markets, we call for the training to be inclusive to include persons with disability,” said Taban.

Emmanuel Goro, the administrative officer of Rombur Boma under Luri payam of Juba County called upon the participants to continue engaging in different types of business to support their families.

 “As people who have acquired business skills, you need to continue engaging in different types of business, it will enable you to provide food for your families at home and also pay school fees for the kids,” said Goro.
