The recent meeting between Gen. Santino Deng Wol and his UPDF counterpart Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba on September 28, provides opportunity to deescalate the situation particularly in Kajo Keji and Magwi.

The top leadership of the two countries has long agreed to resolve their border disputes amicably, despite taking long period to do so.

The communities along the border areas are the ones paying the heavy price due to the inaction of the politicians.

The agreement reached between the top leadership of the two militaries in Kampala, should end the intermittent skirmishes involving soldiers and civilians on both sides.

The leaderships of the two countries need to move fast on speeding up border demarcation along their common border to end the problems; civilians are going through nearly daily at the border areas.
