"We Dare where others fear"
The army spokesperson Maj.Gen Lul Ruai Koang has recently said that the violence that erupted in Nasir County was sparked by marital woes involving a senior officer of the SSPDF.
The officer was ambushed by armed civilians who disagreed with him over his marriage to a woman.
This unfortunate incident caused the death of 13 SSPDF officers including the senior officer and 4 civilians.
The SSPDF has promised to form committee to investigate the incident, but while this plays out the Commissioner of Nasir County, James Gatluak has accused the SSPDF of starting the fight in a market in Nasir town.
Gatluak claimed that the soldiers attacked the market from different directions, adding that the incident was carefully planned by the soldiers.
This latest clashes between the civilians and soldiers in Nasir is not the first as it had already taken place earlier this year.
The government needs to come out with clear explanation of what happened, since it’s two officials are contradicting each other in public.
