Civil society pledge full commitment to oversee implementation of peace

The Executive Director of Standard Action Liaison Force (SALF), Lony Ruot, said they are committed to overseeing implementation of the 2018 revitalized peace agreement to its conclusion to realize peace in the country.

 “We pledge to engage fully in overseeing the peace implementation, bridging the gap between the state and the citizens and fostering public space where people can debate, advocate and constructively address matters of public concern,” said Ruot in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Ruot revealed that they aim to set high standards and rise above social, political and economic vices such as tribalism, partisanship and corruption, adding that they committed to upholding and promoting the supremacy of the constitution.

“In Pursuit of peace, stability and in recognition of the enduring struggles of the people of south Sudan in their quest for justice, liberty and prosperity, we are determine to participate actively in building an inclusive, just and democratic society,” he said.
