The Minister of General Education and Instruction in Western Equatoria State, Grace Apollo Musa, has cautioned students against engaging in examination malpractice during the Certificate of Secondary Education exams.
The exams are set to begin on December 2, 2024, as announced by the National Ministry of General Education and Instruction.
“Candidates should use their brains and calculators only, smartphones and other unauthorized devices are strictly prohibited during the exams,” said Musa on Wednesday in an interview.
She reiterated that academic honesty is vital for the students, adding that the students should focus on their studies.
Musa emphasized that mobile phones are banned in all examination hall, except for authorized devices such as translators in specific cases.
She warned teachers against deceiving students with claims of having access to leaked exams from Juba in exchange for money.
“Teachers must not exploit students with false promises. Let the students use their brains and what they have learned,” said Musa.
Musa also expressed gratitude to teachers for their dedication in educating students despite challenges.
“Your hard work and commitment do not go unnoticed. It is through your efforts that we can build a brighter future for South Sudan,” she disclosed.
The minister called on students and teachers to continue working together to ensure a successful and fair examination process.
The examinations are seen as a significant milestone for students across the country.
