"We Dare where others fear"

The Deputy Governor of Western Equatoria State, Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa, on Wednesday arrived in Tambura County on a peace mission to address recent violence and foster reconciliation among local communities.
Rimbasa was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the police commander, South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers, and other government officials from Yambio.
The team traveled by road through Diabio and Yangiri, escorted by security forces to ensure their safety.
Speaking upon his arrival, Rimbasa emphasized the urgency of restoring peace and stability in the region.
“We are here to address the challenges, listen to the people, and take immediate steps to de-escalate tensions. Our goal is to ensure lasting peace and harmony for all communities in Tambura,” he said.
The visit comes amid heightened tensions in the area, with reports of inter-communal violence causing significant unrest.
The Deputy Governor’s mission is seen as a crucial step in the state government’s efforts to mediate disputes and promote unity.
The Press Unit of the Deputy Governor announced that regular updates would be shared to keep the public informed about the progress of the peace mission.
Rimbasa and his delegation are expected to engage with local leaders, civil society groups, and affected communities in the coming days.
Residents of Tambura County expressed hope that the initiative would bring much-needed stability to the region.
“This visit shows the government’s seriousness in addressing our challenges,” said a community leader who welcomed the delegation.
The peace mission underscores the state government’s broader commitment to addressing conflicts and fostering development across Western Equatoria State.
