"We Dare where others fear"
Several South Sudanese government officials had in the past few months raised hope for the citizens, when they announced plans to resume oil production and shipment through Sudan.
The economy is in a free fall due to the halting of oil production and shipment in February, this year following gelling in the pipeline. The repairs have been delayed due to ongoing fighting between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The Wednesday visit to Juba by the Chairman of the Sovereign Council of Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan should lead to positive results as afar as oil resumption is concerned.
If oil resumption delays for a few months the economy could collapse and this would lead to disastrous consequences for Juba.
President Salva Kiir is well aware of this following his recent speech addressed to the Governors in Juba, where he acknowledged the current economic crisis and promised to speed up oil resumption to shore up the weak South Sudan Pound.
Time is of essence as thousands of families continue to struggle amid the rising prices of basic commodities.
