Sudan, South Sudan leaders commit to restoring regional peace and stability

President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Wednesday expressed their unwavering commitment to restoring regional peace and stability.

The two leaders met in Juba, where they reaffirmed concerted efforts aimed at resolving the Sudanese ongoing crisis through dialogue and diplomacy.

In a statement on the Presidential Affairs Facebook page, the two principals discussed ways on enhancing regional peace and stability through constructive dialogue and mutual cooperation.

The Acting Undersecretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Majak Philemon Majok, said the meeting of the two principals revolved on resumption of oil flow, economic cooperation, and cross-border security, cultural exchange among other critical issues of national importance.

The Undersecretary in the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hussein Elamin, said al-Burhan briefed President Kiir on the current situation in Sudan, as the war rages on.
