South Sudan Freight Forwarders Association Gets New Executive Body

Members of the South Sudan Freight Forwarders Association (SSFFA) on Monday elected Deng Daniel as it’s new president replacing Deng Deng Geng, who had served in office for more than 7 years.

Members of the South Sudan Freight Forwarders Association (SSFFA) on Monday elected Deng Daniel as it’s new president replacing Deng Deng Geng, who had served in office for more than 7 years.                   

Daniel who previously headed Nimule freight station defeated Jacob Mayom of Nadapal station garnering 23 votes.

Akuei Abraham, Chairperson of the independent Electoral Committee (IEC) noted that Mawa Moses who was disqualified eventually defeated Aligo Ezbon to become the executive officer of the association.                                                                                                       

The position of the Secretary of Finance was taken by Majok Malou.

The eligibility required contestants to have valid clearing documents or a freight forwarder with valid membership of the association, literate with a bachelor’s degree for the president, and a diploma for the executive officer and secretary of finance.

30 people including representatives from Juba International Airport, Nadapal, Wau, Nimule, Kaya, and Nesitu inland stations voted the new SSFFA leadership.

 The SSFFA represents over 200 customs clearance agencies, playing a crucial role of facilitating the smooth movement of goods across borders, enhancing the efficiency of freight forwarding, and making commodities available and more affordable for the people.
