South Sudan's English Daily Newspaper
"We Dare where others fear"
The award earned by the Dawn Newspaper at the just concluded Quality Chamber Awards organized by the South Sudan Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Industry have catapulted the Dawn at the forefront in the media industry.
This was no mean feat to emerge as the best newspaper of 2024, since this victory was achieved amid a highly competitive environment.
To crown the moment, three journalists with this newspaper emerged victorious at the recent media awards organized by the Union of Journalists in South Sudan.
The trio was Jennifer James, Awan Achiek and Benjamin Takpiny, who won in the categories of gender and disability inclusion, business and economic reporting and food security respectively.
This milestone cannot be underestimated despite it coming at the time when the Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper, Emmanuel Monychol Akop is still in detention on unclear grounds.
The Dawn newspaper will continue to provide accurate, balanced and fair coverage of news events and in-depth analysis on current issues in the country.
Our request to our ardent readers is that lets work together to celebrate more victories and milestones together in the coming years.
We promise to remain true to our editorial policy, and continue to deliver as our motto “We dare where others fear” entails.
