Internet service provider, connect and Nyot Kok Foundation has donated food and hygiene items to St. Claire orphanage in Jebel.

Michelle Dak, the Sales and Marketing Manager for Connect said the festive season donations are a part of their social corporate responsibility geared at bringing services to the community they operate in.

“Given that it is the Christmas festive season, it is good that we also make them feel involved, these are children who have been abandoned, it is good we involve them in such activities to make them feel loved,” said Dak on Friday at St. Claire Orphanage in Juba.

Hani Ahmed, the Programme Director at Nyot Kok Foundation said they are giving back to the community in what is described as Social Corporate Responsibility.

“This is actually the first where it involves donating to orphanage. It is just the first step of many initiatives to come. We brought a lot of things. We are trying to pay our dues for the community of South Sudan,” said Ahmed.

Betty Thomas, the founder of St. Claire Orphanage said that she relies on donations to feed 190 orphans at the orphanage.

“I am grateful because they brought food and non-food items for the children to celebrate Christmas Carol. It is very difficult because the children can finish one sack of maize flour in just two days,” said Thomas.
