"We Dare where others fear"

The Commissioner of Aweil West County in Northern Bhar El Ghazal State, Abuol Akok Akok, has called for political unity among all political parties in a bid to collectively realize development in the County.
Akok made this appeal during a reception held this week in Nyamlel Payam, where she addressed local leaders, political figures and community members.
She pointed out the serious consequences of political fragmentation in the region, and emphasized that the divisions between political groups have hindered progress in vital sectors such as healthcare, education and infrastructure development in the County.
“There is no development because the parties are not united,” Akok stated, adding that political differences have led to delays in implementing crucial development projects.
She stressed the need for a collective effort to address these challenges, urging local leaders to come together for the benefit of the people.
Akok made a direct appeal to all political factions in the area, including the SPLM, SPLM-IO, and OPP, asking them to set aside their differences and focus on the development needs of the County.
“We must put aside political divisions and work together to ensure that development is the top priority for both the state and county governments,” she said.
“I cannot tackle these issues alone, but with the support of all parties, we can make a real and lasting difference,” Akok added.
Akok reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the people of Aweil West, saying, “I am here as your commissioner, and there is no other commissioner besides me. My mission is to work alongside organizations to bring much-needed support to our county.”
She expressed her dedication to improving the lives of her constituents and building a prosperous future for Aweil West.
Akok stressed the critical role of women in driving development and social progress, emphasizing the need for active involvement of women in improving service delivery, and also their inclusion in decision-making processes to ensure equitable distribution of resources.
“We need the active participation of everyone, especially the women of Aweil West, to make sure our services reach all members of the community effectively,” she said.
