"We Dare where others fear"

Several officials in Lakes State have praised Governor Rin Tueny Mabor for bringing peace and improved security to the once restive State in the country.
Prior to Governor Mabor’s appointment in June 2021, Lakes State was rife with revenge killings, cattle theft, banditry and other forms of crude violence never seen anywhere in other parts of the country.
A member of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly representing Constituency No: 2 of Rumbek North County, Daniel Deng Monydit told The Dawn on Friday that Governor Mabor’s skills in restoring peace and security in the State has earned him respect from his juniors and the entire population of the State.
Monydit noted that since the signing of the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), the State had never experienced the calm it is having now.
He said that the rampant communal violence in the past years had left many people traumatized and also disrupted trade because business people were afraid to invest in the State.
Mabor Makuac Ater, former Commissioner of Rumbek East County said that Mabor’s leadership has instilled confidence in the population, adding that this has led to businesses to spring up in the State because of improved security.
He also noted that farmers are growing food because of the improved security. Lakes State has over the past years ranked among the most food insecure States, according to Integrated Food Classification Report released over the years by UN agencies.
Joseph Marial Malual, a staff in the Lakes State Transitional Legislative Assembly, said that the improved security allowed people to celebrate the festive season peacefully as they ushered in the New Year without any reported incident of violence.
