The South Sudan National Police Services said on Monday that they are investigating a 24-year-old woman who stabbed her husband to death on January 2, 2025 in the Munuki suburb of Juba.
Col. John Kassara Koang Nhial, spokesperson of the police said that the suspect who stabbed the victim at 9 P.M in St.Kizito area was apprehended and a case was opened at the Western police division in Munuki.
The body of the late was taken to funeral home by the police forensic team, said Nhial while releasing the summary of general security situation from 2nd to 5th January, 2025 in Juba.
Nhial said that the security situation within this period was calm; adding that there were few isolated criminal cases including unknown death cases, and water related death (drowning) as well as cholera death cases.
In addition, he disclosed that a police officer was ambushed and shot dead on January 2nd by an armed criminal while traveling on foot to Mareng police station. Nhial said a case was opened at Duk padiet police station and investigations are ongoing.
Nhial also said that on the same date at around 7:00 P.M, an unknown armed criminal robbed a 35 -year -old male’s motorcycle between Iblang bridge and Womfi high way, and a case was reported to the police station in Torit.
“On January 3rd 2025, an unidentified robber broke into a residence and went away with over a million South Sudan Pounds without being noticed in an IDP camp in Unity State. A criminal case was opened within the IDP police station and an investigation is going on,” he said.
