"We Dare where others fear"

The police has deployed in Yirol East County of Lakes State in a bid to curb communal clashes violence.
The deployment follows earlier clashes on Tuesday, according to the Commissioner of Police in Lakes states, Maj.Gen Elia Costa.
“There is an incident that happened in Yirol East where two communities fought among themselves. We deployed our forces there to keep the security,” Costa told The Dawn on Wednesday.
Costa revealed that the initial fighting over grazing land in Yali Payam left five people killed and nine others wounded.
“The Governor went out to the place of the incident, we went together with him, and we called all chiefs from both sides. We talked to them to make reconciliation and peace among themselves,” he said.
Costa disclosed that some suspects have been arrested.
“It is the first time for such incident to happen there. It is a peaceful place. We do not know what happened this time,” he said.
“In this State it is not allowed to carry guns, but sometimes those who are moving with their cattle are the ones carrying guns,” Costa added.
Prior to the appointment Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor in July 2021, Lakes State was mired in rampant communal violence characterized by cattle raiding and revenge killings.
