The South Sudan National Police Service police have registered 23 death cases and 14 injuries in the last 24 hours.
Col. John Kassara Koang Nhial, Spokesperson for South Sudan National Police Service said that 10 people were killed and 12 others injured during a sectional fighting between Kuei clan and Pan-Arek clan in Alabek village of Tonj North County.
A criminal case was opened at Tonj North County police division.
Koang said on 13th Jan 6 people were killed during sectional fighting between Muok clan and Thony clan in Mayen villageof Tonj South County.
He also revealed that a 50- year -old female was beaten to death in Panliet village of Gogrial West County on 13th January 2025 at around 8:45 p.m.
Koang said that criminal cases and isolated crimes that are related to social violence were mostly registered in the States and Administrative Areas.
“However, the rate of crimes dropped today than crime statistics, we are planning to increase the number of forces in the areas where crimes rate is higher,” he disclosed.
Koang said that unknown armed cattle raiders from Unity State assaulted a cattle camp at Akamal Village of Jaw County on 13th January at around 1:30 p.m, and raided 45 herds of cattle leaving 2 people injured.
“The victims were admitted in Ruweng hospital for medical treatment. A criminal case was opened in Jaw County police division and the investigation is going on,” he said.
In another incident, a dead body of 5 -year- old child was found in the stream at Marial-Ajiith boma of Jur River County In Western Bahr Al Gazal State.
Koang said police in Western Barh El Ghazal State arrested 3 doctors after a 33- year- old female went to Get-well clinic for medical surgery and passed away during the surgery.
He also said that a 50- year -old male teacher In Eastern Equatoria State committed suicide by drinking rat poison in Hai Malakia East of Nimule town.
“The motive behind suicide was due to family affairs. A criminal case was opened in Nimule police division and an investigation is going on,” said Koang.
In addition, a dead body of a 25- year -old civilian was found in a container site near Juba International Airport road. Koang said the cause of the death has not yet been established by the police.
He said that a case was opened in Northern police division to investigate the matter.
Koang disclosed that a dead body of a 35- year -old male was found inside his house at Gudele block 4 residential area.
He said the police have not yet established the cause of death.
Koang said another incident involves the shooting of a 42 -year -old male by unknown gunmen in Amadi block 2 residential area.
He said the victim is nursing gunshot wounds in the legs.
Koang also added that a 15- year- old boy was assaulted by gangsters on Monday at around 11:00 a.m in Suk Darfur of new site residential area and died later on due to injuries.
“A criminal case was opened in New Site police division and the police is still pursuing the suspects,” he said.
