The Chairperson for the opposition Republican People’s Party, Wol Madut, has commended President Salva Kiir Mayardit for containing the riots which erupted on Thursday, following the killing of South Sudanese nationals in Sudan.
“I am here to congratulate my President for the step that he has taken when that issue occurred in Sudan. He took the good steps of the leader,” said Madut on Monday in an interview.
Madut said President Kiir has been working tirelessly for peace since independence of the youngest nation in 2011, adding that Sudanese are welcome to reside and do their business in the country.
“My message to people here, especially young people, we have to respect the rule of law and then the command of our President, everybody must be there to respect the rule of law of South Sudan,” said Madut.
He welcomed the reopening of Sudanese owned businesses across Juba, adding that peace is needed across the country for the smooth delivery of services.
