Community commends President Kiir for Appointing Their Son as Security Advisor

The Nyang community of Ayod County has applauded President Salva Kiir Mayardit for appointing their son, Gen Thoi Chany, as Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs.

The Nyang community of Ayod County has applauded President Salva Kiir Mayardit for appointing their son, Gen Thoi Chany, as Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs.

“Your Excellency, we, the community of Nyang in Ayod County, takes this opportunity to pay our tribute and express our gratitude to thank you very much for the appointment you offered to our beloved son, James Thoi Ruach Chany, Ret. The former Honourable Commissioner of Ayod County and Deputy Chief of SSPDF for Operations,” said Thomas Tut Kuer Buom, Chairperson of the Nyang Community, during the celebration held last week.

Buom expressed their thankfulness for this opportunity, stating that the appointment the President offered them through their son reflects the recognition of the Gawar community in his leadership.

“Your Excellency, we accept and recognize the position of Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs as we celebrate January 21, 2025, as our joyous day here in Mogok Payam. We trust and know very well that our son, who took office on January 20, 2025, will work together with you in all his efforts to make this country great and peaceful as before.”

Buom mentioned that the entire community of Gawar had not previously held a national position like this in the national government, which made their community happy for the President.

“Hopefully, we will work together with our son through any means. Your Excellency, we humbly request your consideration to allow our son to come and visit us at our home,” he disclosed.

Peter Gatkhor Luony, the Mogok Payam Administrator, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for unity and collaboration under Gen. Thoi’s guidance.

“As we celebrate this appointment, we must come together as a community to support our son and newly appointed Security Advisor in his vital role,” he said.

Simon Wicjong Biel, Head Chief, stated that the appointment of Gen. Thoi is a significant movement for the community and the country at large.

“Today, we witness a new chapter in our pursuit of peace. Gen. Thoi brings with him a wealth of experience and insight that will undoubtedly enhance our security strategies,” he said.

Yoal Bol Dhew, another Head Chief, expressed confidence in Gen. Thoi’s leadership.

“His dedication to service and his understanding of our challenges make him the ideal choice for this role. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the President for this wise appointment,” he said.

Peter Ruai Gai, Youth Representative, highlighted the importance of security in fostering educational growth.

“With a secure environment, our children can learn and thrive. We appreciate the President’s foresight in appointing Gen. Thoi to ensure a safer future for our youth,” he noted.

Nyaboth Ter Teny, Women Representative, emphasised the role of women in community safety.

“We stand in solidarity with Gen. Thoi and the President, advocating for a secure environment where all voices are heard. This appointment is a step towards inclusive security,” she stated.

The ceremony concluded with a collective commitment from all speakers to support Gen. Thoi in his new role, reinforcing the community’s trust in the leadership and vision of the President.
