As the Azande Kingdom gears up for its 3rd Anniversary celebration on February 9, 2025, a young businessman from Yambio, Nelson Gibson Hosea Sarr, has made a significant donation to support the event.

On Thursday, he handed over 2 million South Sudan Pounds and 20 bags of cement to the Chairperson of the Resource Mobilization Committee, Mrs. Morrin Bingo, at the kingdom’s palace.

Gibson expressed his commitment to supporting the kingdom, emphasizing the role of youth in this year’s celebration.

“As a young businessman and a proud youth of the Republic of South Sudan, I felt it was my duty to contribute to this great event. This year’s celebration has been entrusted to the youth, and I must do my part,” he stated.

Gibson also reaffirmed his continuous support for the kingdom, which unites all 64 tribes of South Sudan.

He expressed his gratitude to President Salva Kiir for restoring the Azande Kingdom and praised the kingdom’s leadership for fostering unity.

“I am very happy that our kingdom has been restored, thanks to His Excellency President Salva Kiir. I also commend our king for ensuring that all tribes feel welcomed in the kingdom. In addition to my donation, I have also decided to repair the three cars belonging to the kingdom to facilitate easy movement,” said Gibson.

In addition, he encouraged youth to take pride in the kingdom, emphasizing that it belongs to everyone, not just the Azande people.

“This year’s celebrations are being led by the youth, and we will not give up. The kingdom is for all tribes, and we must stand together without discrimination,” said Gibson.

The Chairperson for the Resource Mobilization, Morrin Bingo, confirmed the receipt of the donation and thanked Gibson for his generosity.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the 3rd Anniversary Celebration, Isaac Sabir Gbuku, acknowledged the businessman’s contribution, noting that his support goes beyond the event and benefits the kingdom’s broader activities.

“Currently, the kingdom is receiving support from different tribes in Western Equatoria State and across South Sudan. With this level of support, I am confident that this year’s celebration will be more colorful than ever. We have invited top government officials from both state and national levels to attend this historic event,” said Sabir.

The Azande Kingdom’s 3rd Anniversary is expected to be a grand occasion, symbolizing unity and cultural heritage among South Sudan’s diverse communities.
