The newly elected President of the South Sudan Freight and Forwarders Association (SSFFA), Deng Daniel Ayuen, has promised to adhere to the regulations set forth by the transitional government to strengthen the association.

“Our primary objective here is to protect our companies, we must adhere to the principles and regulations set by the government. We should not go contrary against the government policies we must abide by, as per the constitution,” said Ayuen on Saturday during his swearing-in ceremony in Juba.

He said that the strength of the association is in the collective ability to adapt to new technologies.

“I am hereby, requesting that we should unite so that we move together. We shall advocate for the future of the freight industry and for digital transformation,” he said.

Ayuen revealed that the Freight and Forwarders Association employs more than 4,000 people.

“As we navigate the complexity in this industry, marked by the technological advancement, shifting trade policies and environmental challenges we are facing, we must remain united and forward-thinking,” he said.

Ayuen also disclosed that the Freight Industry will focus on the capacity building and training, adding that without capacity building they will not be able to manage revenue generation properly as required by customs authorities.

“We must leverage the technologies to enhance efficiencies, transparency and customer experience. I will work to ensure that our members are equipped with the knowledge, tools for digital age,” said Ayuen.

The South Sudan Freight Association in December 2024 elected Deng Daniel Ayuen as its President, Marial Jacob Mayak as Vice President, Mawa Moses as the Executive Officer and Justin Majok Malou as Secretary of finance.
