Muslims community in Lakes state celebrate Idd-ul-Fitr

Muslim community together with government officials on Sunday celebrated Idd –ul-Fitr at Rumbek freedom square.

The celebration was attended by Mathiang Deng Monydit, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Rebecca Enock Machuoc, Minister of Trade and Industry.

Monydit assured the Muslim community of security and also said they will look into resolving some of the challenges facing the Muslim community.

The state secretary general for the Muslim community in Lakes State, Jacob Maker Majak, thanked Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor, the Governor of Lakes State for ensuring safety and protection of the Muslim community particularly Sudanese nationals following the deadly riots in the aftermath of the killings of South Sudan nationals in Wad Medani in January.
