WES Acting Governor calls for peace, unity during Idd-ul-Fitr

The Acting Governor of Western Equatoria State, Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa, has called for peace, unity, and coexistence among all religious groups in the state.
"As the Acting Governor of Western Equatoria State, I extend my warmest Idd Mubarak wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters. May this occasion bring joy, prosperity, and blessings to you and your family,” said Rimbasa on Sunday during Idd-ul-Fitr prayers in Yambio.
He appreciated the contributions made by the Muslim community towards the development of the State.

 The Acting Governor of Western Equatoria State, Daniel Badagbu Rimbasa, has called for peace, unity, and coexistence among all religious groups in the state.

He appreciated the contributions made by the Muslim community towards the development of the State.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen Hussein Girisi, the Director of Traffic Police in Western Equatoria State and also a Muslim religious leader appreciated government officials for supporting the Muslim community.

“Government always stands with us in South Sudan during our celebrations, and we appreciate the efforts,” said Girisi.

The celebration held in Yambio, was attended by local leaders, religious figures, and members of the Muslim community, who gathered for prayers, festive meals, and charitable activities symbolizing the spirit of compassion and generosity that defines Idd-ul-Fitr.

Muslims around the world observe Idd- ul-Fitr as a time of gratitude, reflection, and giving, reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood and solidarity within society.

In Yambio, the event served as a reminder of the state’s diversity and the importance of fostering interfaith respect and understanding.

The occasion concluded with prayers for peace and development in Western Equatoria State and South Sudan as a whole.
