"We Dare where others fear"
As the African Union Panel of the Wise arrives in Juba, the belligerent South Sudanese parties should mind the consequences of a relapse into full blown conflict.
The leaders of South Sudan should be impressed upon the need for resolving their differences internally, without first waiting for experts from outside to do so. They should not often think on first setting their house on fire, and later on cry for external help to put the fire off.
The world is experiencing many multiple crises, and this has meant that greater focus has shifted from South Sudan to ongoing conflicts in Palestine and Ukraine.
This means South Sudan with it’s current humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the war in neighboring Sudan, is least among the priorities.
The current occupant of the Oval Office, Donald J.Trump, is one who is cutting U.S funding around the world in things he deems as less important to U.S strategic interests. Therefore, South Sudanese and their leaders should not expect support inform of humanitarian funding from the U.S, once the country relapses into conflict.
In addition, the countries in the East and Horn of Africa region are dealing with own crises, and they are likely not ready for another conflict in South Sudan that would send millions of refugees across borders.
