The South Sudan Freight and Forwarders Association (SSFFA) has adopted a comprehensive strategic plan to advance its 2025/2026 agenda.
Deng Daniel, the President of the SSFFA stressed that the strategic plan marks a significant step towards streamlining operations and enhancing policy implementation within the freight and forwarders sector.
“This strategic roadmap is not only a reflection of our collective vision, but also a commitment to delivering tangible progress. It will help us navigate the evolving demands of the sector and position South Sudan as a more efficient and competitive logistics hub in the region,” said Daniel during the meeting of the senators of SSFFA at Imperial Hotel on Saturday.
Daniel noted that they are focused having a unified voice that champions the interests of their members and the entire logistics sector.
“Through strategic advocacy and lobbying efforts, we aim to create an enabling environment that allows businesses to thrive, particularly in the face of ongoing challenges,” he said
Daniel said that the newly adopted strategic plan outlines key priorities and objectives that will guide the association’s activities over the next two years in terms of strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing capacity-building programs, and advocating for policies that support trade facilitation and regional integration.
“The strategic plan also aims to foster stronger collaboration with government agencies, international partners, and the private sector to ensure the smooth movement of goods and the development of trade corridors that link South Sudan to neighboring countries,” he said.
Mawa Moses, the Chief Executive Officer for SSFFA said he expects the strategic plan to play a pivotal role in advocating for infrastructure investment, digital transformation, and policy reforms that support the growth of the logistics and transportation industry in the country.
Moses also said the association has reaffirmed its dedication to transparency, inclusivity, and sustainable development as key pillars of its operational approach.
He said the SSFFA will actively engage with the Ministry of National Trade and Industry and other relevant bodies to push for policy reforms and regulatory frameworks that reduce bottlenecks, promote transparency, and improve service delivery across the industry.
“We recognize that many of our members face difficulties ranging from unnecessary delays to excessive charges and administrative hurdles. Our strategic approach, will include continuous dialogue with authorities to ensure a more conducive and business-friendly environment that supports growth and regional competitiveness,” said Moses.
The two- year strategic plan aims to ensure that the Ministry of Trade and Industry remains steadfast in prudent macroeconomic management by implementing well thought out economic policies, programmes, and strategies.
