"We Dare where others fear"

The Yei River County Commissioner, Emmanuel Taban Seme, has commended the week-long inter-community football tournament which closed on Tuesday for contributing toward bringing peaceful coexistence among communities.
Speaking at the closing ceremony held in Yei Freedom Square, Taban said the success of the tournament has the potential to inspire other communities in the country to work for peace and unity.
Mustafa Adam, the Program Officer for Reconcile International, which organized the football tournament in partnership with the Yei River County Department for Youth, Culture and Sports said the tournament has created a sense of peace.
“We are proud to be in this County, we have been working for peace, reconciliation, trauma healing and social cohesion, we want to make Yei a model of where people can live peaceful,” Adam said.
Greater Bahr-el-Ghazal FC was crowned winners after beating Western Equatoria FC 2-0 in the finals.
The eight community teams which participated in the tournament include Yei River County, Lainya, Morobo, Kajo-Keji, Western Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Greater Bahr El Ghazel and Greater Upper Nile.
