The Archbishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan Justin Badi Arama, has urged South Sudanese to embrace peaceful coexistence in the communities across the country.

“As we celebrate Easter this year, let us pray and cry out to the lord to make this prophesy a reality in our community and throughout our nation, we therefore urge our political leaders to embark on good politics and those holding guns to cease fire,” said Arama in a statement issued ahead of Easter Sunday celebrations in Juba.

Arama encouraged all South Sudanese to be peace ambassadors, adding that harmony in creation will be so profound that reconciliation will reach even the animal kingdom.

He revealed that the time is coming when the violence witnessed since independence in 2011 will no longer dominate human thoughts, adding that suffering will be transformed to joy and hope.

“The resurrection of Jesus Christ transforms all the fears, tears and suffering and struggle of humanity into joy and hope, the resurrection also marks a new beginning in human history as prophesied by Isaiah,” Arama said.
