The Minister of General Education and Instruction in Central Equatoria State Cirisio Zakaria Lado, has said that private schools outperformed public schools in the recently released 2024 Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) examination.
“The best performing candidates in Central Equatoria State are all from private schools. The number of candidates is increasing in private schools while the number is decreasing in public schools,” Lado said yesterday while announcing CPE examination results in Juba.
Lado said that 19,942 candidates passed the 2024 CPE examination with percentage of 94.5 percent out of the 21,532 registered candidates who sat for the examination across six counties of Central Equatoria State.
He disclosed that the best performed subjects were Christian Religious Education and Science with pass rate of 94.7 percent and 94.6 percent respectively. Islamic Religious Education was the least performed subject with 82.4 percent.
The overall best student, Felix Luwala Wani Jube, from Juba Christian Center, Hai Negil Primary School obtained 453 marks, while the second best student, Moses Jerry Acire Ocaya, from Juba Christian Center Model Primary School scored 453 marks from Juba Block and Ador Moses Akoch Mayuat, from River Baptist Nursery and Primary School with 452 marks.
Lado revealed that Juba Christian Center Model Primary School in Central Equatoria State emerged the top school with 89.8 percent passing rate, followed by Venus Star Academy with 89.1 percent and Juba Christian Center Hai Negil Primary School with 87.6 percent.
The Certificate of Primary Education examination was written between the 18th to the 22nd November, 2024.
