President Kiir directs Foreign Minister to pursue assertive foreign policy

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has called on the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Monday Semaya Kumba, to pursue a more assertive foreign policy aimed at strengthening South Sudan’s ties with regional and international partners.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has called on the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Monday Semaya Kumba, to pursue a more assertive foreign policy aimed at strengthening South Sudan’s ties with regional and international partners.

Kiir also acknowledged the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in building bilateral ties, according to a statement on the Facebook page of the Presidential Press Unit.

In addition, the president directed Kumba to pursue consistent, proactive diplomacy aligned with the country’s interests.

For his part, Kumba emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and promoting peace. 

Kumba briefed the president on his recent trip to attend the London Conference for Sudan and his visit to Ethiopia.
