The governor of Eastern Equatoria state, Louis Lobong Lojore on Thursday said that the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) is strengthening collaboration with opposition parties to uphold peace.
“We are working hand in hand with all opposition political parties to ensure peace and stability in the state, and so far, the situation is holding,” Lojore said after meeting President Kiir at the State House in Juba.
Governor Lojore informed the President that the state remains peaceful, with ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation among political parties and stakeholders to maintain harmony.
Lojore also stated that the state government is mobilising communities to practise large-scale farming, adding that there are ongoing plans by the state government to initiate a cost-sharing scheme with local communities.
After the meeting President Kiir gave directives to Governor Lobong to Lojore to ensure that peace and stability prevail in the state.
The meeting focused on the current security, political, and economic environment in Eastern Equatoria.
The meeting between President Kiir and Governor Lojore underscores the importance of coordination between national and state governments in advancing stability and development across the country.
