South Sudan continues to endure repeated armed attacks that destabilize communities and destroy lives. These cycles of violence—often sparked by political rivalries, ethnic tensions, or disputes over resources—have robbed the country of peace and progress.
It is time for South Sudanese leaders, regional partners, and the international community to commit to a real and lasting solution. Dialogue must replace gunfire, and disarmament, justice, and reconciliation should be prioritized over revenge and division. Above all, the government must protect its citizens and ensure that those responsible for violence are held accountable.
The people of South Sudan deserve a future free from fear. Peace is not only possible; it is necessary.
