Lado Payam of Juba County in Central Equatoria State announced on Tuesday that 22,000 plots of land in Nyamini village are now available for public allocation.
Nyamini village, located in Lado Payam, is situated 15 miles from Juba, the national capital.
Alemi Sebit Tombe, chairperson of the Illa Kare and Ku’da Lo’dimi Development Community, stated that they have begun allocating plots for residential, commercial, and institutional development.
This allocation is open to applicants who have submitted their applications, according to Tombe.
“We have 22,000 tokens and 91,000 investment plots, along with schools, hospitals, and churches, and we also have two cemeteries,” Tombe told journalists during the launch of plot allocation in Nyamini on Tuesday.
Tombe noted that the plots have been surveyed and roads have already been opened.
“We have a large number of South Sudanese who have come to Juba city seeking services, and some do not have plots to reside in with their children and friends. This is why we, as the youth of the area, along with the people of Ila Kare and Ku’da Lo’dimi, chiefs, and intellectuals, have decided to make Nyamini a city for all South Sudanese,” he said.

Justin Lado Wani, executive of Jebel Lado, emphasized the progress made by the communities of Illa Kare and Ku’da Lo’dimi in allocating plots to meet the growing demand for urban housing.
“We don’t have much to say; we just want to commend what the Development Community and the two communities have accomplished. They have distributed tokens, and those with tokens will be given their plots,” Lado said.
“I am very happy and want to assure people that they should not fear; the area has been allocated to them, and we aim to make this area a city.”
Martin Patia, youth leader of Jebel Payam, stated, “The allocation of plots should proceed; anyone who has a token should come and receive their plots.”
Viola Poni Barnaba, women’s representative of Illa Kare in Lado Payam, welcomed the public allocation of plots.
“The plots are being cleared and roads opened, so those who received tokens should come to claim their plots,” Poni said.
