"We Dare where others fear"

The government of Warrap State has announced plans to address ongoing communal violence in Tonj East County.
Mamer Bath, the Warrap State Minister of Information and Communication, revealed that the government intends to facilitate dialogue among the conflicting communities in the region.
“We are now preparing to visit Tonj East. The government is planning to bring together conflicting communities and is moving to settle any further aggression,” said Bath on Saturday in an interview.
Bath stated that the periodic communal violence in Tonj East County of Warrap State is a cycle of revenge resulting from cattle raiding.
“We have decided to put such conflict to an end. It is going to be in the form of dialogue because the government cannot use force against its own people. We will work to bring together conflicting communities so that we can settle their differences,” he said.
Last week, the communal violence between the Luacjang and Jalwau communities of Tonj East County left 46 people dead and 22 others wounded.
