MTN South Sudan has initiated its 21-day Y’ello Care campaign to equip communities with essential digital skills.

The campaign, which began on Monday at an internally displaced persons camp in the Juba suburb, will take place from June 1 to June 21, 2025, under the theme “Connecting at the Roots.”

Its goal is to enhance digital connectivity and promote educational empowerment across the country.

Maluk Manyok, MTN South Sudan Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Manager, said  that the campaign aims to enhance connectivity and digital literacy within communities.

“Our employees are our greatest asset, and their passion for making a difference is truly inspiring,” Manyok said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

“We believe that by enhancing connectivity and digital literacy, we are empowering communities to build a more connected, prosperous future for South Sudan.”

He noted that the 21-day initiative aims to reach over 3,000 individuals across targeted communities, with specific metrics for digital literacy training participants, new mobile money users, and connectivity improvements.

“The programme will train local digital champions to provide ongoing community support, ensuring a lasting impact beyond the initiative period.”

He reiterated MTN’s readiness to continue demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development through initiatives that create measurable socio-economic progress throughout the nation.

For his part, Moses Mayor, Chief of Legal, Regulatory, and Corporate Affairs, said the programme aims to impact the lives of numerous vulnerable rural populations by improving their digital connectivity across the country.

“The ’21 Days of Y’ello Care’ represents our deepest commitment to the communities we serve,” said the Mayor.

The Mayor stated that this year’s theme embodies MTN’s dedication to addressing the fundamental connectivity needs of South Sudan’s vulnerable populations.

“By providing essential digital tools and knowledge, we’re unlocking pathways to education, economic opportunity, and social connection,” he added.

He mentioned that they intend to extend beyond these 21 days, with planned follow-up engagement to ensure a lasting impact in these communities.
