The newly elected South Sudan Paralympic Committee, headed by President Peter Baptist Abaker, Vice President Hakim Chris, and Honorary President Hung Se Lim, has pledged to participate in the 2028 Summer Paralympic Games, which are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, United States of America.
Coach Hung Se Lim, the honorary president and Korean missionary, has been supporting the South Sudan national football team as a coach and providing support to sports associations and academies with sports uniforms.
“The South Sudan Paralympic Committee is organised with the intention of participating for the first time in the Los Angeles Paralympic event to be held in 2028,” said the Paralympic Committee in a statement.
The committee revealed that the South Sudan Paralympic Committee aims to instil core sports values such as inspiration, equal participation, and fostering a more inclusive sporting environment in South Sudan.
Last week, the General Assembly elected its inaugural Executive Committee, with Peter Baptist Abaker as President, Hakim Chris as Vice President, Aisha Tombe as Second Vice President, Kim Joak Bany as Secretary General, and Simon Dhoal as Treasurer.
Lim, who has now been elected as Honorary President, previously donated Olympic sports uniforms to South Sudan Olympic teams that participated in the Congo Brazzaville Africa Olympics, Brazil Olympics, South Africa Olympics, and Tokyo Olympics.
