The Director General of the Directorate of Civil Registry, national, passport and Immigration Maj. Gen. Elia Kosta Faustino has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering essential services to all citizens of South Sudan without discrimination.

“As Director General of the Directorate of Civil Registry, Nationality, Passports, and Immigration, it is a big responsibility, not a simple task; every South Sudanese has a right to receive services,” said Kosta during the celebration on Saturday at the Nyakuron Cultural Centre

He expressed his commitment to delivering services to all citizens of South Sudan without discrimination.

“We need to work together to achieve our targets; we need to deliver services to South Sudanese without discrimination,” he added.

Mangar Buong, the Deputy Minister of Interior, stated that the new Director General of the Department of Civil Registry, Nationality, Passports, and Immigration is an honest top government official.

“The work of immigration is a big responsibility; it becomes complicated during emergencies and requires much attention because sick people are treated as emergencies. Students in foreign countries may be deported or subjected to suffering. The liberation was fought so that South Sudan could have its own identity,” said Buong.

Abraham Manyuat Peter, the Inspector General of Police for the South Sudan Police Services, stated that Maj. Gen. Elia Kosta has been successful in most of his assignments.

“Maj. Gen. Elia Kosta is a committed officer. Some officers are not assigned because they will have excuses, but Maj. Gen. Elia Kosta works under all conditions and seasons without complaints. He is always ready to carry out his assignments anywhere in the country,” said Peter.

“His transfers have taken him to several locations, including Awiel in Northern Bahr El Ghazal, Bor in Jonglei State, and Rumbek in Lakes State, where he served as police commissioner. Maj. Gen. Elia has never been directed by the police to write explanations regarding matters; he is successful in his work,” said Peter.

The Azande Community organisation in Juba celebrated the appointment of Maj. Gen. Elia Kosta Faustino as the Director General of the Directorate of Civil Registry, Nationality, Passports, and Immigration on Saturday.
