"We Dare where others fear"

The Executive Director of the Center for Peace and Advocacy (CPA) urged the government on Saturday to urgently reconvene the long-awaited Cabinet meeting to address the pressing issues facing the country.
This call came after the Cabinet has gone several months without meeting.
Cabinet meetings serve as the central decision-making body of the executive branch in many governments.
They provide a forum for ministers to discuss and decide on significant government issues, including policy proposals, legislation, and responses to various matters.
Gatwech expressed concern over the delay in reconvening the Cabinet, which is raising worries about peace implementation.
“The CPA is deeply concerned about the prolonged delays in Cabinet meetings, especially at a time when the country is in desperate need of cohesive leadership and dialogue to address key political, economic, and humanitarian challenges,” Manyang said in a statement extended to Dawn on Saturday.
Manyang urged the government to urgently resume Cabinet sittings to deliberate on pressing national matters, including the effective implementation of the 2018 peace accord.
“We urge the leadership to prioritise the needs of the people and resume Cabinet sessions without further delay,” he said.
The outspoken activist warned that the delay in resuming Cabinet meetings risks derailing the peace process.
He added that it further undermines public trust in the transitional government’s commitment to national unity and progress.
“The country is at a critical juncture, and it is imperative that our leaders come together to address issues of governance, security, and the full implementation of R-ARCSS.”
He reaffirmed the CPA’s commitment to promoting peace, dialogue, and accountability.
“We call on all stakeholders to engage in constructive discussions that advance stability and development for all South Sudanese.”
