The governor of Jonglei State, Riek Gai Kok, On Thursday, urged Johnson Kuol Gai, the Chairperson of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Fangak County, to initiate development across the county.

“This is your time to shine. Bring unprecedented development to your people and make a difference as the party demands. The Jonglei administration is committed to a people-first, service-oriented leadership, where accountability, transparency, and grassroots development are the guiding principles,” said Kok.

Kok also encouraged the new SPLM chairperson to promote unity and collaboration with party leadership and community stakeholders, warning that disunity at the grassroots level threatens effective governance and service delivery.

“You must work with the party leadership, the elders, the youth, and all stakeholders. Governance must be inclusive and responsive. Our primary concern is the quality of service to our people; the only card to play is the people’s card,” he said

Johnson Kuol Gai, the newly sworn-in Chairperson for SPLM in Fangak County, expressed his gratitude to Governor Riek Gai Kok for the trust placed in him and pledged to lead with integrity, urgency, and inclusiveness.

“I see this as a call to serve, and by God’s grace, I will not deviate. I will immediately convene a party meeting with elders, youth, and market women to unite our people and begin the hard work of development,” said Gai.
