The Central Equatoria state’s Ministry of Roads and Bridges has submitted a memorandum to the Council of Ministers, requesting USD 8.3 million for the completion of the Terekeka–Tindilo–Tali road.

Jacob Aligo Lo Lado, the Acting Minister of Information and Communication for Central Equatoria state, announced that the cabinet has approved funding for the construction of two bridges along this route.

“The Cabinet approved USD 220,594 (two hundred twenty thousand United States Dollars) for the completion of two bridges along the same road, with the remaining balance to be incorporated into the 2025–2026 fiscal year budget,” Lado stated on Thursday after the weekly cabinet meeting.

Additionally, Lado noted that the Minister of Roads and Bridges has requested an amendment to the ministry’s name to “State Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges.” The Council acknowledged this request but deferred the memorandum for further consultations.

Aligo also reported that the Council of Ministers condemned a recent incident involving a gang in which a young girl was gang-raped by eight individuals two weeks ago in the Gumbo-Shirikat residential area.

He confirmed that a crackdown is underway on youth allegedly linked to gang activities across Juba, adding that all those arrested are currently in police custody, awaiting investigation and potential prosecution under the law.
