President Kiir Bids Farewell to Ethiopian Ambassador

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday,bid farewell to the outgoing Ethiopian Ambassador to South Sudan, Nebil Mahdi Abdullahi.

In a statement from the president’s office, Kiir praised Ambassador Nebil for his dedicated efforts to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between South Sudan and Ethiopia.

President Kiir acknowledged the ambassador’s contributions and extended his best wishes for his future endeavours, emphasising the importance of ongoing collaboration between the two sister nations.

Ambassador Nebil expressed his “sincere appreciation to the people and government of South Sudan for the warm reception and cooperation he received during his tenure.”

He praised the cordial relations between Addis Ababa and Juba, describing them as “historic and growing stronger.”

He also congratulated the people of South Sudan on their 14th Independence Anniversary, reiterating Ethiopia’s steadfast support for the country’s journey towards peace, stability, and development.

Amb. Nebil Mahdi Abdullahi served as the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to South Sudan from March 2021 to June 2025.
