UNMISS , Western Equatoria Election Commission Train Communities on Inclusive Voting

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), through its United Nations Integrated Electoral Assistance Team, collaborated with the State High Election Commission of Western Equatoria State to organise a one-day training session in Yambio on Monday. The aim was to enhance community understanding of electoral processes, with a focus on inclusivity and gender-responsive participation.

Over 16,000 IDPs in Crisis as Humanitarian Emergency Unfolds in Bazia Payam

The humanitarian situation in Bazia Payam, Wau County, has sharply deteriorated following the arrival of more than 16,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Tombura, Maringindo, and Nagero Counties since September. Most of the displaced individuals—primarily women, children, and the elderly—are now struggling to survive without adequate food, shelter, healthcare, or clean water.
