"We Dare where others fear"

The Central Equatoria State government on Wednesday denied claims that it intends to move the state capital from Juba County to Yei River County.
This statement comes in response to social media reports suggesting that Central Equatoria State Governor Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani is planning the relocation in an effort to address the rampant land-grabbing issues in Juba.
Waakhe Simon Wudu, press secretary to the state governor, refuted the allegation, describing it as “baseless, misleading, and politically motivated.”
“On behalf of the governor, I wish to state unequivocally that these allegations are not true. They are baseless, misleading, and politically motivated,” Simon said in a statement seen by Dawn on Wednesday.
Simon stated that there has never been a plan, nor has it been endorsed, to relocate the state capital to Yei River County, popularly known as Small London.
“At no point has the governor been involved in such engagement. He has not sanctioned or endorsed any plan to relocate the state capital, nor has he been complicit in any scheme to alter the status of Juba for ulterior motives,” he said.
He urged the public and media outlets to treat those rumours as ‘inflammatory allegations’ intended to tarnish the image of the governor.
“The allegations further suggest that Governor Jadalla has been put into a difficult position regarding the relocation of the capital.”
He said Governor Jadalla is guided solely by the principles of constitutionalism, peace, service delivery, and inclusive governance.
“We urge the public, stakeholders, and media to treat such narratives with utmost discontent and to focus on facts, not fearmongering,” he said.
“The governor continues to serve with integrity and remains dedicated to preserving unity and stability across the state.”
